Pain In The Patootie?

If you have pain in the lower back or buttock region, you may have sacroiliitis. The sacroiliac joints are what link your lower spine and hips together.

You have a left SI (sacroiliac) joint and a right SI (sacroiliac) Joint. The SI joints are extremely important in a person’s ability to transfer weight from the spine to the lower extremities and vice versa. When these joints become inflamed you can develop sacroiliitis.

When this occurs, conservative treatment is usually preferred first and may include physical therapy, ice, heat, anti-inflammatory medication, or the use of a TENS unit (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation).

When conservative treatment does not address the pain sufficiently injection therapy options may be considered. If this provides only temporary relief, the sacroiliac joints may be fused in an outpatient surgical procedure called a SIT procedure that takes less than an hour from start to finish to complete. This can provide sustained SI joint pain relief.

If you are tired of that persistent pain in the patootie and your caboose will not stop aching, do not postpone treatment any longer. Pull your train into any of the Advanced Spine and Pain stations ASAP before your pain goes off the rails.
