Dr. Awnik Sarkar hails from the vibrant state of Michigan, where he pursued both his undergraduate and medical degrees at Michigan State University. Following his academic journey, he embarked on an Anesthesiology Residency at Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, MI. Dr. Sarkar further honed his expertise in Pain Medicine through a Fellowship at the University of Virginia.

With Double Board Certification in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, Dr. Sarkar is committed to providing individualized care tailored to each patient's unique needs. He approaches patient treatment holistically, prioritizing conservative yet effective therapies whenever possible. Recognizing the limitations of conservative approaches, Dr. Sarkar is adept at employing advanced, minimally invasive interventions for chronic pain management.

Passionate about staying at the forefront of medical innovation, he continually seeks to enhance his skills and integrate cutting-edge technologies into his practice. Dr. Sarkar is an active member of The North American Neuromodulation Society, the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, and the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience. Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Sarkar finds joy in cycling, sports, culinary pursuits, and exploring the great outdoors with his beloved golden retriever, Harley.
