Is Knee Pain Bringing You to Your Knees?

If you have dealt with knee pain for some time and gone through traditional cortisone injections, subsequent gel injections, or even had a knee replacement surgery, and continue to suffer with knee pain, you may have thought your options were relegated to narcotic medication for pain relief. This may not necessarily be the case.

For years, the radiofrequency ablation (RFA) has been one of the best tools available to pain doctors, to control localized pain in the lumbar, thoracic, and cervical spine. A modified version of this treatment is now being utilized to address knee pain. By ablating nerves in the knee, the nerves are unable to transmit their message of pain to the brain resulting in prolonged pain relief. Again, these are peripheral nerves, and do regenerate in time, but the duration of efficacy is usually in the ballpark of six months.

The following are a couple of interesting studies, if you are wanting more information about this treatment option.

If you are dealing with chronic knee pain, there is no need for you to come to us on bended knee begging for treatment. At ASAP we are more than happy to discuss this and other treatment options with you.
