Dr. Chad Mears is a compassionate and dedicated interventional pain physician. Born and raised in the active community of Salt Lake City, UT, he brings a unique perspective to pain management, leveraging a strong foundation in exercise physiology before pursuing his medical degree at the University of Utah.
Dr. Mears completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, where he served as Chief Resident and earned the Resident Excellence in Education Award. He further specialized in pain management by completing a fellowship at the same institution.
Dr. Mears believes in a multidisciplinary approach to pain management, working collaboratively with patients to develop personalized treatment plans. These plans may incorporate physical therapy, psychological support, and minimally invasive to advanced interventional procedures, all focused on improving function, quality of life and reducing reliance on pain medication.
Dr. Mears prioritizes clear and open communication. He listens attentively to understand your unique needs and goals, fostering shared decision-making to develop a treatment plan you feel comfortable with. Outside of treating patients, Dr. Mears enjoys an active and well-rounded life. He's an avid wakeboarder who thrives on various water sports. He also cherishes spending time with family and friends, whether it's hitting the gym, exploring nature through hiking and snowboarding, or enjoying quality time camping, playing tabletop games, or catching a movie. Dr. Mears also embraces his creative side through 3D design/printing and loves experimenting with new recipes on his smoker.
