After a few years of increasing discomfort, she went to her orthopedic surgeon who did arthroscopy and “shaved off” the portion of the meniscus in her knee that was causing pain. Unfortunately, the repair did not hold up and the meniscus bulged out again within a few months. The patient’s pain not only returned but continued to worsen.
