Grant Fankhauser, MD

Grant Fankhauser is a board-certified vascular surgeon who specializes in treatments focused on blood vessels.  Through advanced minimally invasive procedures, Dr. Fankhauser helps patients with symptoms such as joint and muscle pain, swelling, heavy or tired legs, muscle cramps, restless legs, and myofascial pain.  He personalizes his treatment plans to target each patient’s area of concern.

Dr. Fankhauser earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas and then spent seven years at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona completing a general surgery residency follow by a vascular surgery fellowship.  His training taught him that each patient should be treated individually and gave him the skills necessary to treat a wide range of conditions.

He started a career in academic medicine at a university system in Texas as an Associate Professor of Surgery.  There he performed vascular surgery, general surgery, and trauma surgery, in addition to teaching residents and medical students and serving as the Director of Quality.  A constant scholar, Dr. Fankhauser has earned a business degree and a law degree as he continued to practice medicine, but he still feels medicine is his true calling.

His love of Arizona brought him back to Phoenix, where he began focusing on minimally invasive treatments that could be performed in outpatient settings and those procedures aimed specifically at pain relief.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, and bulldog.  He likes time at the lake, skiing, trying new restaurants, traveling, and photography.  

Dr. Fankhauser’s patients appreciate his compassion, friendliness, attention to detail, and personalized, evidence-based approach to their symptoms.  He is accepting new patients at multiple locations across Phoenix and welcomes the opportunity to help as many patients as possible feel better.
